Batra, Geetika

Batra_Geetika_Artist Photo.jpg

How to reach this artist:

gbatrahome@gmail.com

Artist Bio:

Geetika Batra, a Montreal-based artist, from Jodhpur, India, discovered her love for painting at six years old. Influenced by the rich cultural tapestry of Punjab and the vibrant Rajasthani architecture, her art reflects life's unpredictable beauty.
Her impasto techniques reflect life's spontaneity, illuminated by light's interplay. Vibrant and textured, her art celebrates joy and captivates the viewer's gaze.

Artist Statement:

In these paintings, the canvas becomes a stage for the enchanting dance of transformation, where the delicate beauty of white flowers undergoes a profound metamorphosis under the spell of shimmering gold. With each stroke, Geetika unveils a narrative of regeneration, where the essence of renewal intertwines with the allure of alchemy. Just as the flowers yield to the transformative power of gold, so do humans have the capacity to evolve and flourish, shedding old selves to embrace new possibilities. This captivating tableau mirrors the human journey, where the innate potential for growth emerges from within, transcending limitations to embrace a brighter, more radiant self. Gold signifies spiritual richness attained through inner evolution. Through this alchemical process, the painting invites viewers to ponder the cyclical nature of life and the perpetual quest for self-improvement and renewal.

Kilani, Rania

Kilani, Rania.JPG

Artist Bio:

I am a self-taught abstract artist that enjoys using a diverse range of media to create unique and vibrant paintings.
In my art process, I first select colors based on my current emotional state, choosing hues that reflect my mood. I then apply these colors to the canvas, allowing the paint to flow freely and dictate its own course. I follow the fluid movement of the paint, embracing its natural rhythm and letting it create unique patterns and textures. The result is a spontaneous and organic composition that captures the essence of the moment and the beauty of allowing creativity to unfold organically.

Artist Bio:

I draw my inspiration from my life experiences and I produce modern abstract artworks in which ideas and emotions are seized by colour and movement. The resulting paintings are distinguished by bright, vibrant colours, surprising textures, fluid and dynamic directions.

I am comfortable with oil and acrylic, but I also like to dip into watercolor, ink and alcohol or mixed media, and favor the superposition of color strokes with the spatula to get a rich mosaic effect.

As an artist, I honestly hope my artworks can call for the viewer participation to the same extent as my involvement in it.
